Du du du DAH, a New Entry!

Just when many of you thought I was dead. . . like Tupac or Captain Jack Sparrow. . .

I am alive!

I've been working at Skyview Ranch these past 6 weeks or so, working with them for retreat groups and writing up their webpage. They're web page hadn't been updated in about a year and a half, so they gave me the massive project of redoing it. It's been a lot of fun and I've gained a lot of good experience. The next update will be a new home page with a Flash introduction. Aside from that I've been producing posters and advertising material for them. . . they have kept me busy.

This job is sort of an inbetweenish kind of thing though, as pay is somewhat inconsistent. I've been looking for lots of jobs, but it seems like my luck has not been so good, or I get so-so responses from employers. We'll see what will happen as I continue to pray and ask God for guidance. I figure as long as I'm still applying for jobs, God will take care of the rest. He has me here for a reason.

Uhm, other happenings in the life of Ryan. . . there really aren't any. To any who are wondering, I'm not engaged yet, though that time is coming soon (like a thief in the night or something like that). I'm excited for it

And. . . I think that's about it. I really want to come down and visit the 'Ville sometime soon, but it looks like I'm booked for the next three weekends, unless I can come down during the middle of the week sometime. I miss all of you out there, especially my Cedarville friends (you still have a friend Taboo ) I hope everything is going well. . . and that I'll get to see you soon, like the UM - OSU game, where UM will trounce the grey and red team from the abysmal town of Columbus.

Tagged... and marked for sale!

Thanks, Gwowia!

Once you are tagged, you must post six things about yourself which are either weird, unusual, habitual, or are just plain fun to hear about (and true!). Once you post these things in your blog, you must gently tag six to ten others in the Xanga world, who then, in the spirit of not wussing out, must read words like these and follow the same rules you did.

1. I used to have have a double jointed right thumb. It could pop out of place and bend backwards and such. I got tackled at camp and sprained my thumb and it doesn't do that anymore. I feel like a super hero who has lost his one special ability. Now I am a mere mortal.

2. I have punted a ground hog and caught a snapping turtle by its head.

3. When it comes to toilet paper, folding is the only way to go. Crumpling is much too messy.

4. I have never used a loofa.

5. When I was a kid I wanted to either be an archeologist or Han Solo. I've given up on archeology.

6. My little brother raced against Ted Nugent's son at a track meet. Apparently the Nuge is loud whenst rooting for his son.

My xanga seems to be dying a slow painful death from malnutrition! I shall update it again to keep it breathing. . .

Camp ended two weeks ago after a long, but very good, summer. It was a real learning experience as I attempted to wrangle and teach and have fun with little people between the grades of 4th through 12th. I made a lot of good friends at camp, more than I expected when I started. To be honest, I wasn't really sure what I was going to think of Skyview when I first started. I thought it would be a job I'd have to just wade through and get it done, but it grew on me, and by the end, I loved the place. It was a good chapter in my life!

I just got back from my family's anual vacation to Cedar Point yesterday. This time Michele came with us and she made it a lot of fun I got to ride everything that I wanted, usually three or four times. Skyhawk, the new ride there, was pretty sweet. I really liked it. Looks like they are building another rollercoaster for next summer over by all the water rides. It resembles Millenium Force, except it has a lot more curves and turns and such.

Right now I'm hunting around for jobs. It feels pretty weird not returning to Cedarville this year. . . or returning to any sort of education for that matter. I haven't had a whole lot of luck yet with the job hunt. I'm looking around Ohio mostly in the area of writing and editing. Hopefully I'll find something fairly soon.

Graduation seems like it was a very long time ago. . . and I don't really feel like a college graduate. . . but now I am at Skyview as a counselor. I worked with Juniors this past week (4th, 5th and 6th graders). It was highly. . . educational. It was pretty amazing to me to see God really work despite my shortcomings. I had a lot of fun running around with them, but it was also very taxing as I had to keep track of 12 short people all week long on a big camp ground area. Saturday came and all 12 went home with their parents, so I didn't lose any :-p. This week is Junior High and with them they bring a whole list of other challenges. It's going to be interesting. . . that's for sure! Please pray for me, that I'll be able to handle it all. I hope all of you out there are doing well, especially my friends from Cedarville that I haven't gotten to talk to in forever!

Ok, so, yeah, it's been a very long time since I last updated.

Events of my life:
Finished all school work on May 5th
Graduated May 6th
Saw the interestingness of Thomas's parents meeting my parents. . . wedding planning ensued.
Went to the Chapel on May 7th. . . got Olive Garden gift card, will use only on me
Went to Cedarpoint on the 8th. . . had a blast... no lines
Chilled out for a week, played video games, beat Halo 2
Worked today at Guardian. . . working there all week, making gas money, extra moula before camp.

And thus, those are the events of my life since I last updated. I know, they are very. . . minimalistic, but I didn't want to bog this post down with paragraphs and paragraphs of unnecessary typing. Most wouldn't want to read all that anyway!
